Easiteach Maths Versions– what are the differences?

As you look around the Easiteach web site you may see references to different versions of Easiteach Maths. If you aren't sure which version you have and what the differences between each version are, the information below should help you.

Easiteach Maths Versions

Easitech Maths users can be split into two groups - those who use Version 2 and those who use newer versions, such as V3, V3.1 or V3.2.

Which version do I have?

By comparing the two screenshots shown below you can work out which version of Easiteach Maths you have.

Version 2
has teacher tools at the top of the screen and a clip art category bar along the bottom.

Newer versions
have some menus at the bottom of the screen. These are entitled “File”, “Toolbars” and “Resources”.

What are the differences between Version 2 and newer versions?

1. Newer versions of Easiteach Maths are part of Easiteach Studio

Newer versions are part of the Easiteach Studio range of products. Customers who have these versions receive a pack which installs the new version of Easiteach Studio and Easiteach Maths.

2. Newer versions of Easiteach Maths have extended functionality

Once you install newer versions of Easiteach Maths, you will find that the Maths Toolbar contains the familiar Easiteach Maths tools such as the Function machine and Number Lines. All of these tools work in exactly the same way as the previous version. However, Easiteach Studio has much more power - you can incorporate video, sound files and animations into your teaching, as well as rotating, resizing and locking text and images.

3. Content is provided in different ways

Customers using Version 3 or later are sent the Easiteach Maths Content Pack. This will install the Easiteach Maths content onto the hard disk of your computers. You will find the teachers' notes on the last page of each activity file. Newer versions can open content created in Version 2.

Version 2 customers do not receive the Easiteach Maths Content Pack. They access content from the Easiteach Maths web site. Version 2 customers can activate a password for the Members' Area of the site. This is an area where they can log on to download content. The content found in this area is the same as the content provided to customers in the Easiteach Maths Content Pack, so no one is missing out – the content is just provided in a different way. Version 2 cannot open content created in newer versions of Easiteach.
